Programs of Study
The General Conservatory consists of three programs. The first is the Elementary, while the second is the Secondary while the third is orientation similar to preschool programs for children.

The Elementary program |

It is composed of the curriculum of elementary music education, which is spread over three years. Each year is composed of two semesters. There are defined courses , usually two or three) that the student takes each semester to complete the curriculum according to the academic plan for this program. |

The Secondary program |
|
This program is composed of an academic curriculum that spreads over two years, each of two semesters. There are usually two or three courses in each semester the student can take to complete the curriculum.
Students are accepted in both programs from age six and above. Students aged fifteen years or above who are without previous music education can enroll in a the elementary program in an intensive way which is determined by their talent and hardware.
Student who already have followed music education somewhere else will be auditioned and examined by a committee of the teachers from the Academy to assess their level, and will be placed accordingly in years in either program in order to continue their studies. |

The Orientation program |
|
Children of four to six years can be accepted in a special orientation preschool program in music in order to introduce them to music and to instruments, and help them select the instrument of their liking. This program is composed of half the teaching time that is taught in the Elementary program, and it does not have exams. |

The Academic semester |
|
A Semester is a period of 12 weeks, in which the student follows two classes per week. In some classes additional time is taken for group activities or additional cultural classes. |

The Academic year |
|
Studies start in the first semester during the first week of September each year, and ends in the middle of December. The second semester start in the middle of January and ends in the middle of May of each year. |

Registration |
|
Students register for both semesters each year according to the academic regulations of the Academy. |

Departments |
|
Studies are available in these departments: Department of piano, strings, wind instruments, oriental music, percussion and voice. |
